WHAT ARE THE LEVELS OF COURSES IN THIS CAREER PATHWAY?
- 1. Intro to Graphic Design. It is here that we introduce the concept of graphics, how they fit into the overall business picture and students learn about all the fun creative aspects of combining art and technology to create fabulous works of art.
- 2. Advanced Graphic Design. Students get into the "meat" of the graphics industry. They learn about advertising, illustration, printing processes, digital photography and create an ad campaign employing graphic design industry standards for ad production from A to Z.
- 3. Advanced Graphic Output - these students run our printing business. They fulfill customer requests for such items as printed shirts, posters,or business cards. They investigate the business cycle, marketing of a product, billing, file management, accounts payable/receivable and customer service.
- 4. Practicum - after both pathways, students can experience a concentration in the print process of their choice.
- Each level is expected to maintain a published portfolio of their works. Management of this career oriented document is a portion of the final grade for this pathway, and will serve as a career tool for future employment.
